How To Get E-books For Free – A Review Of Requestit

Searching on youtube recently, I found a video of a website that seemed unremarkable in that it was based on wordpress and the theme it was using did not do it much justice. But what did catch my eye was the title: ”How to get ANY e-book for free” Now I myself am a sceptic, I don’t just take people’s word for it, and there are lots of these sites out there that end up asking you to complete a survey, donate or subscribe to access premium content, which, by the way click this site I despise because people have quite enough to be getting on with without trolling through the web answering articles to find dead links in the unlocked page! I was pleasantry surprised to see what met my eyes.

A bad themed site it may have been, but it done the job, which is to say, it gave you the links to e-books for free, no catch, I Downloaded the full harry potter, Lord of the rings and Twilight collections without a hitch, that’s not to say that there weren’t more, but I’m not that keen on reading! The website was laid out well enough for the theme it was using but I tried not to look at the main page too much as it was cluttered with a wordpress-ish sidebar and every single book was listed there, not I preferred to use the search bar, which turned up good results on the most remote keyword: I typed in ”Ron” for example and the harry potter collection turned up.

But it’s not all rosy in the garden if you are expecting to visit a site with a database of 10,000 e-books you will be disappointed: this site has around 30 popular good quality e-books, by good quality I mean best-sellers such as harry potter, Lord Of The Rings etc. Instead of books such as ”1001 ways to sell a website” remember friends, those websites have 10,000 books in their collection for a reason! But that’s the only real problem with the site, over time, however when other people’s requests fill up the database it will
be like any other, but I think, with higher quality books.

When I say ”other people’s requests” I mean the feature which lets any user, registered or not request an e-book. I assume the admin/admins of the site then troll the internet looking for a copy of the book in .pdf format, because after a brief chat with the admin, he told me that every post is typed by hand, and that all the e-books are hosted elsewhere, thus the site is perfectly legal (to host). Requests usually take 3-4 days and the idea is that these fill up the database; eg: a user goes to the website and there is only 1 book there, he really wants harry potter so he requests it, and he received the link in email, but at the same time, harry potter is added to the database, so the next user will have two books to pick from, unless he requests it. This makes this site, in my opinion, unique because 1. It has only high quality books and 2. you can request any book you want together with 3. the requested books are added to the database.

Did you notice anything strange about what i just said? yes, I was talking to the administrator of the share this website site. How many of you can say that you have had a general chat with a site admin, not many I’ll bet. You see there is a real sense of community about the site, the admin is really friendly, and there is always at least one person on the chat bar at the bottom of the check here screen to chat to, who all share your love for books. You can join as a member and write your own articles, but most people do not do this and then to just ”snatch and run”, Although I do not think that you MUST join to access links that other people have published, i do not agree with this tactic of leaching off a site without any thanks, and sadly the admin seems to get little of that these days.

As a final note the site seems to be heating up, after taking a break from visiting it for a few weeks I came back, just yesterday to find that it has many more books now, a lot of registered members and a brand spanking new theme that looks great! (anything would compared to the old one!) There are now two or three admins and 452 subscribers to the newly installed (since I last visited) RSS feed, which some people may find pitiful, but I one of the people who seen this site in it’s early days have to feel….. almost proud of it.

Overall the site does the job that it advertised to do, it allows you, to get any e-book that you want with no cost to you. All you need to do is fill out a simple form, stating what book you want, and, more times than not within 4 days you will retrieve an email form the admin saying it is ready, and if you are lucky (you probably will be the way it is expanding now) then the book you want will already be there. It may not be to everyone’s taste, but if you are into reading and you want a community to boot; there is a good site reviewed by me and ready for you, Didn’t I say where it is? oh, sorry how foolish of me; The site in question is over at . Enjoy!
